Senior Cybersecurity Engineering Consultant

Our clients in the Department of Defense, Air Force, Space Force and Federal Aviation have adopted our solutions for cybersecurity acquisition, implementation, and operational risk management challenges while planning for emerging security threats. As technologically sophisticated attacks are increasing, we are looking to grow our team of laser-focused cybersecurity engineers. 

Overview:

As a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant, you will work collaboratively in a team setting to provide technical consulting services to clients. You will be responsible for cyber solution engineering, problem-solving, and implementation, as well as providing mentorship and leadership to other team members. Your strong communication skills will enable you to work with highly technical and management personnel. Your hands-on experience with cyber technologies and their implementation will allow you to provide expert guidance on the security of client systems and networks.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor team members, providing guidance and support in cybersecurity best practices and technologies.
• Conduct cybersecurity assessments and risk analyses for clients, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending solutions.
• Provide cyber solution engineering, including design and implementation of cybersecurity systems and technologies.
• Collaborate with technical and management personnel to ensure that cybersecurity solutions are effective and align with business objectives.
• Communicate cybersecurity risks and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, including management and clients.
• Ensure that cybersecurity solutions are compliant with industry regulations and standards.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends in cybersecurity technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

• A 4-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a relevant STEM field

• The ability to gain a CISSP certification within one (1) year of employment

• 8-12 years of experience working in cybersecurity (or related space).

• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (note: US Citizenship is required)
• In-depth knowledge of one or more areas of cybersecurity
  • DevSecOps security assessments of code built into the Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline
  • Deploying, configuring, and securing cloud service offerings in public, private, and hybrid deployment models
  • Auditing cloud environments against DoD Cloud Computing SRG and DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture requirements
  • Security best practices and hardening of Windows, Linux, Virtual Machines, cloud services, and containers
• Strong understanding of the Risk Management Framework, NIST 800 series, FEDRAMP or working within other compliance policies (examples: PCI DSS, CIS, CCPA)  
• Experience with security tools, including end point protection, NextGen firewalls, data loss protection, web proxies, intrusion prevention systems, SIEM, and/or vulnerability scanners

Leadership qualifications:

• Strong technical consulting ability coupled with experience leading and mentoring team members.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex cybersecurity issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
• Ability to provide and take direction in a team-first environment.
• Leadership skills and experience in leading project teams or client engagements.
