Description

The Security Specialist is primarily responsible for gathering data related to criminal activity at CHA properties and preparing all necessary reports and video related to the crime data.Β  The Specialist will prepare video evidence for Law Enforcement, Legal, FOIA and Property Management.Β 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate activities with law enforcement agencies to secure accurate data related to CHA properties.
  • Prepares monthly crime reports and assists in preparing quarterly and annual reports.
  • Ensure continued integration of CHA's video surveillance with other city agencies.
  • Investigate, through surveillance footage, crimes and lease violations on CHA properties.
  • The analyst will complete a visual inspection of sites as requested, and work with the property management firms to ensure that their staff maintain the vacant lots.
  • Catalog and track all surveillance requests, dispositions and chain of custody for video pertaining to incidents on CHA property.
  • Develop professional, accurate and detailed reports from videotaped footage of subjects.
  • Assists internal departments during construction and design to ensure proper video coverage of sites.
  • Upon request, will use proprietary software to retrieve video and document and store the video on the CHA's share drive.
  • Coordinates information sharing with law enforcement agencies, CHA staff and property managers relating to criminal investigations and lease enforcement.
  • Oversees the installation of new surveillance hardware/software at CHA properties.
  • Except for vacation, will be on call 24 hours a day.
  • Meet with stakeholders to develop strategies to address crime and disorder issues on or near CHA property.
  • Keep abreast of all security strategy matters addressed by the Emergency Services Department to respond in the absence of the Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education and /or experience in security or law enforcement (e.g. Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field) with a minimum of 2 years technical experience with surveillance equipment from law enforcement or private security sector. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. The selected candidate will possess strong attention to detail, be a self-starter, able to meet deadlines and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Must possesses a valid driver's license and travel throughout the city as necessary. Must be willing to be on-call and available 24/7.

Salary: $65,000
