Position Overview

Responsible for managing the Network Security of IT environments internally and for clients. Developing policies

and procedures to ensure customer security, availability, and system performance. Engineering position that

resolves Network Security IT related issues, documenting the issue as well as providing feedback on monitoring

or preventing the issue from happening again. Works with a diverse range of Network Security IT software and

equipment with configuring, managing, and monitoring. Serve as liaisons between the organization and

customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and promote the mission, values, and principles of Powernet
  • Manage customer IT and Network Security environments according to client agreements
  • Work with account reps with recommendations for improvements
  • Training clients, administrators and engineers about client environments and technologies and supporting them
  • Documenting and diagramming client environments
  • Troubleshoot VoIP, IP, and circuit issues
  • Configure Routers and Switches
  • Configure site to site and SSL VPNs
  • Configure firewall and content filtering
  • Identify network security issues and while having the ability to mitigate threats
  • Provide clients with network security health reports
  • Provide on-site and remote assistance in resolving technology support issues
  • Review incident tickets and respond to end-users appropriately; resolve open tickets in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive client experience
  • Lead technology implementations/upgrades
  • Troubleshoot, research, resolve and document technical problems and incidents
  • Anticipate and resolve problem situations. Assist in monitoring corporate technology and maintaining service level agreements
  • Assess available hardware/software in anticipation of current and future needs throughout all departments and facilities
  • Stay current on applicable technologies and bring that knowledge to team members.
  • Act as a local point-of-contact to clients with some travel outside of the state
  • EscalationΒ point for calls receivedΒ by the NOC or level 1 technicians
  • Creating, monitoring, researching, and resolving alert messages
Requirements

Β Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Network Security focused IT management experience preferred
  • Experience with Firewall implementations and best practices
  • Experience with Endpoint protection and best practices
  • Experience with general security and auditing principles and best practices
  • Network connectivity and troubleshooting experience
  • Thorough computer hardware and software knowledge
  • Experience with Windows, Active Directory, Networking, IP Addressing, IP routing, switching, encryption technologies, firewall principals, threat mitigation
  • Strong understanding of OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP and BGP routing protocols
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Great work attitude, eager to help end users
  • Fortinet FCP required, FCSS preferred
  • CCNA required, CCNP preferred
  • CWNA a plus
  • Must possess a valid driver license
