Job Summary:
Β As a Senior Network and Security Engineer, you will leverage your extensive experience in architecting, designing, and implementing IT infrastructure and information security solutions. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to tackle new challenges within our IT infrastructure and security operations. Your expertise in threat hunting and vulnerability management will be crucial as you work both independently and collaboratively with service providers. You will play a key role in projects across various domains, including network operations, data centers, cloud services, and security risk management. Your contributions will ensure the integrity and security of our IT services.


Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Implementation:

  • Assist in the implementation and operation of various infrastructure domains, including network, data center, servers, and cloud services, with a focus on cybersecurity measures such as vulnerability management, network security, data protection, and endpoint detection.

Technology Integration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and integrate new IT technologies that align business requirements with infrastructure and cybersecurity needs.

Security Enhancements:

  • Review existing infrastructure systems and security measures, recommending and implementing enhancements to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Governance and Compliance:

  • Partner with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) resources to optimize policies, develop standards, and assist with strategic roadmap planning.

Architectural Design:

  • Contribute to the planning, strategy, and design of network and security architectures for various business initiatives, including SaaS implementations and IT infrastructure projects.

Documentation:

  • Document and update infrastructure and security procedures, standards, and best practices.

Project Supervision:

  • Oversee the delivery of network and server projects, making necessary adjustments to improve performance and output.

Maintenance and Upgrades:

  • Regularly review, maintain, and upgrade network services and system software to support the organization’s infrastructure applications.

Performance Optimization:

  • Conduct ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as needed.

Incident Response:

  • Respond to and triage alerts for network and server systems, performing troubleshooting and documenting root cause analyses (RCA) as appropriate.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other IT functions to provide advisory services, including solution design and architecture support.

Monitoring Compliance:

  • Ensure that systems meet compliance requirements and investigate security-related alerts for potential impacts.

Vulnerability Assessments:

  • Participate in security vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, as well as internal security audits and investigations.

On-Call Support:

  • Participate in a rotating on-call system administration support schedule, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed.


Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in IT networking systems, including firewalls, switches, VLANs, and routing.
  • Minimum of 3 years in an Information Security role, with a strong focus on infrastructure technology and cybersecurity.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in network and security technologies, including firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud security practices and identity/access management.

Certifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or cloud certifications (Azure, AWS) are a plus.

Programming Knowledge:

  • Basic programming skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or similar are advantageous.


General Skills:

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in project management and team collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the manufacturing or high-tech industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, SOC, NIST, ISO standards) is beneficial.
