About the Job:

We're excited to announce an opportunity for the position of IT Security Specialist! Under the direction of the First Vice President, IT Security, this position will help to ensure the organization is in compliance with regulations and policies by providing end user support of Information Security Systems, assisting with end user education, responding to security-related alerts, and supporting the strategic vision of the Department and the Bank.

The pay range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000.

This position is Full Time, 40 hours weekly. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May be Assigned):

  • Supports the Information Security Officer (ISO) in ensuring compliance with the Bank’s Information Security Policies, GLBA, Dodd Frank, Sarbanes-Oxley, MA Data Security and other regulations where applicable.     
  • Performs vendor management functions and tasks for IT Security and IT as applicable.     
  • Monitors information security systems, including but not limited to antivirus products, secure email, data leakage prevention, browser security tools, threat intelligence tools, etc. 
  • Responds to security system alerts, customer requests, phish alerts, and help desk tickets that involve security-related systems or issues.   
  • Assists with the creation, monitoring, and facilitation of monthly phishing, technology tips & tricks, and security training campaigns. Assists with virtual or in-person security-related training.
  • Assists IT Security with the selection and implementation of security-related technologies.     
  • Creates documentation for security-related technologies and/or processes for end users.     
  • Responsible for tracking, securing, and witnessing the destruction of physical media, including coordinating with the disposal vendor.     
  • Information security issue resolution over the phone, email, or in person. 
  • Responsible for the maintenance and support of security-related devices in all Bank-owned/leased locations.     
  • Conducts periodic reviews of user access on corporate systems and makes recommendations to the ISO or other business unit leaders.

Knowledge and Skills

It is required that the employee in this position can work independently, interpreting ideas and facts, while also analyzing and interpreting federal and state laws and/or regulations., and maintain extreme attention to detail. This employee should have strong customer service skills, as well as strong written communication skills and the ability to make effective presentations in a group setting. Applicants must possess excellent verbal and numerical aptitudes, and demonstrate maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. 

Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.

Education and Work Experience

A High School diploma is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. One year of work experience in the information technology/security field is preferred. Vocational and/or technical training in a technology-related field is beneficial. 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

This position is in an office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies. This position may require some travel between offices.
