The Information Systems Specialist's primary responsibilities will be oversight of Therap, our electronic health record system, and our learning management system.  The ISS will create, post, and assign electronic training content with our training team, in alignment of regulatory requirements. This position is also responsible for maintaining and optimizing internal data systems and coordinating special data analysis projects. The Information Systems Specialist will have an inherent understanding of our services and population, identify organization needs, and recommend products and processes. Through the management of information systems, the position helps to drive the agency toward its mission of providing high-quality person-centered services. Excellent customer service skills are required.


The Information Systems Specialist reports to the Chief Administrative Officer, and works collaboratively with the training team, information technology team, and human resources. This is a full-time position, 30-40 hours per week, with the flexibility to work remotely but will need to attend occasional in person meetings. Pay range: $23.00 to $24.90 per hour


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acts as designated administrator for the agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) software (currently Therap), responsible for all aspects of account management
  • Dedicated point of contact with EHR vendor to ensure system efficacy and that all regulatory requirements and agency needs are met
  • Coordinates with programs, fiscal, and other departments to develop policies/procedures and training materials to advance optimal use of EHR
  • Responds to requests from programs and other departments for data or reports from EHRs/databases
  • Processes all employee support requests related to EHR
  • Manages Personal Request App (PRA) and data generated from the App
  • Produces quarterly dashboard reports from PRA
  • With input from responsible parties, obtains and enters weekly status updates related to pending personal requests in the PRA
  • Works with the Training Coordinator to facilitate employee online training via learning management systems (LMS) by transferring content to appropriate software and/or uploading content
  • Maintains electronic employee training tracking system, including assignments, reminders, and reporting to departments to ensure compliance
  • Assists with employee support requests related to learning management systems
  • Use other agency software to input data from assigned programs and generate reports
  • Conducts special data gathering, management, and analysis projects as assigned by the CEO or CAO
  • As needed, builds electronic platforms to optimize seamless recording, flow, and sharing of information

Requirements
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and an expert-level user of Microsoft Outlook
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications to build tools such as Forms; Power BI a plus
  • EHR experience is strongly preferred 
  • Understanding of database structure and reporting
  • Ability to create, analyze results, and present results of surveys and data collection tools
  • Ability to create training tools to meet the educational needs of the agency
  • Ability to work independently

  • Associate's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related degree and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the administration of information systems
  • Must have a current NYS driver’s license, free of moving violations; deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier
