STATUS: Full-Time / Exempt          

REPORTS TO: Director, Infrastructure and Information Security 

LOCATION: Corporate Office / Rochester, NY*         

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $60,000-70,000 annually. The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5pm

 

Must reside in New York and be able to work onsite at our Rochester, NY corporate office.


Position Overview


The Information Systems and Security Support Specialist is responsible for the ongoing administration of the credit union’s information systems and security applications. The position will monitor security procedures and work with various departments to ensure secure communications and data storage, plus assist in limiting information security risks to the credit union’s information. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with information systems and/or security technologies. The purpose of the information security program is to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of member and credit union information and availability of information systems.  Perform all responsibilities in a manner that serves The Summit’s Mission and upholds the credit union’s values.


Essential Functions

  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service and support to all end users and respond in a timely manner
  • Track and respond to requests via ticketing system
  • Coordinate the reviewing, monitoring, testing and deployment of patch management processes
  • Involved with new and upgraded software and hardware to ensure they meet credit union’s security standards.
  • Monitor and ensure all end user accounts and systems are protected with authorized controls as appropriate. (i.e.. End point protection, web filtering, local firewall, account and group permissions, etc)
  • Maintain the Information Security Program including maintenance of procedures
  • Responsible for administrating Information Security applications
  • Create reports from monitoring systems including but not limited to phishing, malware, data leakage, Active Directory, Data Classification, application whitelisting and patch management.
  • Lead the research of any attempts to compromise security protocol 
  • Involved with the credit union’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program 
  • Assist with information security awareness and training initiatives to educate staff about risks and appropriate actions to protect information and systems
  • Participate in special assignments and projects as requested by management
  • Participate in on-call after hours support as needed

Qualifications

Education/Experience: An equivalent combination of the following:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in technical field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of information technology experience. 
  • Technical and industry recognized certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with the following specific technologies is preferred
    • Microsoft Windows operating systems
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • User administration of Windows Server 
    • End point protection, web filtering, firewall solutions
    • Business desktop hardware and software

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including Technical & Systems/Equipment Proficiencies)

  • Microsoft Office Suite, particularly: Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copiers, VoIP phone systems)
  • Intranet/Internet, navigation of web-based vendor systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and logical skills are required
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex technical information effectively to a non-technical audience and respond to questions in the same manner
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills are required

Working Environment 

  • Be able to sit for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to utilize/view a monitor for an extended period of time.
  • Must frequently use a keyboard to enter data.
