The starting salary for this role starts at $76,100- $95,200 per year.

About the role:

Protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of sensitive member information and confidential information at the Credit Union by identifying and remediating information security threats and vulnerabilities. Manages, implements, and maintains technical security controls used for information security at the Credit Union. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for deploying security patches for systems and workstations in a timely manner while minimizing business impact.
  • Reviews vulnerability scans from internal and external sources, interprets and validates the results, and remediates potential exposures.
  • Monitors alerts from SIEM tools, validates, and investigates the results, and remediates potential exposures.
  • Conduct regular threat hunting activities to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities within the organization's network and systems.
  • Tracks the status of known information security threats and vulnerabilities and works with Information Technology (IT) and other business departments to remediate known exposures.
  • Manages, implements, and maintains technical security controls used for information security at the Credit Union.
  • Develops monthly metrics for the Information Security Manager.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including educational/preparatory experience.
  • Education/Certifications/Licenses:  (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Equivalent of an information security degree or a professional certificate, such as SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISM, CISA and Security+
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
  • Other Skills: 1. Knowledge or experience in information technology including, but not limited to: networks and telecommunications, servers and virtual environments, PCs, cloud environments, programming languages, and databases. 2. Technical planning, project management and interdepartmental experience. 3. Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with information technology professionals as well as non-technical users. 4. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. 5. Ability to work and travel independently, use general office equipment, give speeches, and make presentations.
