Overview

The Squires Group is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer  to support a critical federal program focused on providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes. 

 

Work will be performed ONSITE in Arlington, VA.  Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizen, possessing a Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support Security Standards & Baselines (SSB) implementation and maintenance.

  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities.

  • Apply broad cybersecurity knowledge and promote best practices.

  • Communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Research emerging threats and document findings.

  • Mentor team members and share expertise.

  • Develop security bulletins, alerts, and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.

  • Recommend secure configurations for new and existing technologies.

  • Provide clear guidance on technical and policy inquiries.

  • Collaborate across teams and maintain open communication.

  • Drive process efficiency to support mission objectives.

  • Organize and manage documentation in SharePoint.

  • Stay engaged with team activities and provide backup support.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of related experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Currently certified in one of the following:
    • CAP, CASP+ CE, CCISO, CCNA-Security, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CND, CSSLP, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, GSLC, Security+ CE, SSCP, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev
  • Familiarity with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Proven ability to create and carry out structured research initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience managing Windows Server in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Skilled in administering Active Directory across multiple domains.
  • Background in enterprise-level server and application virtualization.
  • Strong business acumen, team collaboration, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
    • Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automating processes is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in technical documentation and writing.
  • Knowledge of engineering and maintaining database systems such as SQL and Oracle.
  • Familiarity with ADFS, Azure, and Active Directory environments.
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining virtualized IT infrastructures.
  • Understanding of core networking technologies.
  • Experience configuring or administering enterprise-level mobile device solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers in a large-scale environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The compensation for this role is up to $116,000, based on experience and qualifications.
