Chief Information Officer

SUMMARY:

 The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Lexington Clinic plays a pivotal role in leading and strategizing the organization's information technology initiatives. The CIO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of IT leadership, management, and innovation within the clinic, ensuring that technology aligns with the clinic's mission and goals. This position involves shaping, implementing, and enhancing healthcare systems by harnessing a combination of on-premise and cloud-based technologies. There will be a strong partnership and collaboration with senior and departmental leadership. 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. However, industry experience and relevant certifications may be considered in place of a degree. 

 

  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in IT Leadership and Management, preferably in the healthcare industry. Proficiency in managing a diverse team and fostering a collaborative work environment.

 

  • Technical expertise: The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategies and operational plans. Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including hardware, software, network, storage, security, and cloud computing. 

 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: The Chief Information Officer must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and solve complex issues efficiently and effectively.

 

  • Knowledge of industry regulations: The candidate should have a thorough understanding of industry regulations, such as HIPAA and HITECH, and ensure that all systems are designed and implemented in compliance with these regulations.

  

  • Collaborating with stakeholders: The Chief Information Officer must be able to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, business leaders, IT teams, and external partners. They must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that everyone is aligned and working towards the same goals.

 

  • Providing technical leadership: The Chief Information Officer must provide leadership and technical guidance to the technology team, leveraging their expertise in the technology landscape, industry trends, and emerging technologies to ensure that the organization is utilizing the most efficient and effective solutions.

 

  • Adaptability: The Chief Information Officer must be able to adapt to new technologies, software, and regulatory changes that arise as healthcare IT systems continue to evolve.

 

  • Project management skills: The ideal candidate must possess experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and tracking progress to ensure timely project delivery.

 

  • Technology budgets: The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for collaborating with organizational leadership in developing and tracking the IT budget.

 

  • Ensuring system security and stability: The Chief Information Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization's technology systems are secure, stable, and compliant. They must work closely with all areas of the organization to ensure that security best practices are being implemented and followed.

 

PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:

 Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; use basic office equipment; visual and auditory acuity.
