    Summary

    Provide technical support in all areas of district student information systems. Be able to analyze, identify, and resolve tier-2 level system issues and assist in the development of documentation to improve level of technical support. Document failure trend analysis and recommend solutions to Technology Information Systems (TIS) management. Provide guidance for the training needs of district student information systems users. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations.
     

    Essential Functions
     
    1. Provide technical support to all district personnel specifically in the areas of scheduling, attendance, grades, historical course dataentry, maintenance, enrollment and any associated reports.
    2. Develop documentation to assist help desk staff provide level one assistance to student information systems users.
    3. Serve as technical support for all student information system users.
    4. Provide training for student information systems users to include new hires.
    5. Resolve as many tier-2 technical issues as possible without escalation to advanced support personnel. Analyze and detail technicalissues that need tier-3 escalation.
    6. Maintain a knowledge base to address fixes of corrected issues that can be utilized by help desk personnel.
    7. Maintain working knowledge of all district student information systems in order to provide an optimal level of support.
    8. Assist with technical data validation in all areas of our student information systems.
    9. Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job.
     
    Other Responsibilities
     
    1. Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.
    2. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals.
    3. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
     
    Qualifications

    High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); six (6) years of Scheduling Clerk/Attendance Clerk/Registrar experience. Ability to use a personal computer and knowledge of word processing/spreadsheet applications; must be able to communicate, listen, read, write, and comprehend the English language sufficiently to use it easily and readily in daily communication; possess required skills and knowledge.
     

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

    Maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work with frequent interruptions; prolonged use of computers and occasional prolonged and irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel. Valid Texas/New Mexico driver’s license; subject to the district’s drug and alcohol screening policy and regulation; must be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier.
