Senior Security Specialist - Document Control

Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field or the equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years relevant experience; or Master's degree. General Dynamics experience is strongly preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

 

NOTE: This position will start at the GDMS Fairfax VA location. Final work location is the GDMS Manassas VA facility by end of April 2025. This position is 100% on-site.

 

Sr Security Specialist - Classified Document Control Specialist

 

Position Overview: The Classified Document Control Specialist is responsible for managing and safeguarding classified documents, ensuring compliance with security regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of security protocols.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of classified documents.
• Ensure all documents are handled in accordance with government and company security policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all classified documents.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security regulations.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate secure document transfer.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on proper handling and safeguarding of classified information.
• Respond to security incidents and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit required reports related to classified document control
• Support the FSO in other security related functions

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in document control or security management, preferably within a government or defense contractor environment.
• Strong understanding of government security regulations (e.g., NISPOM).
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

As the Senior Security Specialist, you’ll coordinate and perform routine to intermediate security tasks to ensure compliance with contractual, program and security requirements. This will include participating in the administration and coordination of one or more security programs/activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures, conducting security briefings and maintaining security education programs. Additionally, we will rely on you to partner with various government agencies to ensure corporation is compliant with directives and regulations and obtains rulings, interpretations and deviations, as appropriate.

What you bring to the table:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field or the equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years relevant experience; or Master's degree. General Dynamics experience strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of all security policies and procedures and ability to interpret security requirements and apply them consistently across diverse situations
• Solid knowledge of all general functions and substantial understanding of policies and procedures to include the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual Supplement (NISPOMSUP), National Security Agency (NSA) Industrial COMSEC Manual, 90-1, specific Program Security Directives (PSD)
