Responsible for all technical configuration, service, repairs & replacements (RMA where applicable), system management and administration for parts of video, alarm, and access control. Additional duties may be included but not limited to research & design for security equipment as well as security hardening of that equipment.
This role will work closely with the Video Monitoring Supervisor to ensure that the Video Monitoring Center (VMC) is technologically kept up to date with services and access to respond to analytics faster and more accurately. This person will support the VMC and the VMC supervisor on all needs technical. This person will support the Senior Manager of Security and be a critical figure in physical security for CMC. This person will be part of the Video Management Team and perform all configuration, management and logging for cameras, thermals, analytics, LPR, wireless, firmware, adding/removing cameras, layouts, high heat detection, maps, and general video needs for the corporate video management system(s). This person will be responsible for service and maintenance for security and video equipment. This person will need to be detailed in recordkeeping as well as documentation for hardware. This person will be a subject matter expert to the company as it pertains to security, safety and operational use of cameras, thermals, video, alarms, and access control hardware. This position requires 3-5 years of experience with cameras, and VMS applications. Thermal & video certification(s) is a plus. This position will work closely with the network team to ensure that video and other security equipment does not become a strain on the CMC network and that the network team understands the growth needs of security hardware in the coming years.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and assist in servicing cameras, video system, alarm system, and access control system for internal CMC users
- Program cameras and access control equipment to company standards
- Perform detailed receiving and shipping documentation of security equipment
- Physically receive and ship video equipment including unboxing, programming, labeling, and boxing of hardware for local and remote locations
- Assist with managing and maintaining the Video Management System as well as keeping it updated and operational
- Assist with research and design of video, alarm and access control components for specific needs and locations
- Perform firmware updates as needed but especially in relation to I.T. security compliance
- Help identify improvement opportunities and recommend equipment to end users that will improve current conditions
- Assist the Video Monitoring Center in managing data collection and intrusion detection hardware/systems
- Perform thermal and analytical calibrations on various equipment
- Assist the Video Monitoring Supervisor with layouts, maps, and other VMS options in order to aid the Video Monitoring Center in their daily duties
- Special projects/ad-hoc reporting as needed
What You'll Need
- 2-5 years video, alarm or access control experience with private industry and/or security suppliers
- AXIS device manager experience a plus
- Strong understanding of camera settings and basic network architecture
- Experience with video management systems, intrusion alarms, and access control
- Ability to gather, organize and analyze data
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player, detail oriented, and organized
- Ability to work with minimal daily supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work with urgency in a fast paced, team- oriented environment
- Ability to travel as required
Your Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
- AXIS certification candidate is preferred
- Level 1 Thermographer is preferred
