Security Specialist

Ohio Gratings is seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Specialist to join our team and help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our employees, visitors, and assets. As a Security Specialist, you will safeguard the premises and personnel while demonstrating integrity, passion, and a commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Protection of Personnel and Property: Safeguard company property, employees, and visitors by maintaining a secure environment. Act in line with our core value of Caring to Earn Trust, ensuring all individuals feel safe and valued.

• Surveillance and Monitoring: Regularly monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarms, to identify and respond to potential disruptions or unlawful activity. Your vigilance will demonstrate working with passion to protect our company’s resources.

• Access Control: Oversee access control procedures, ensuring all visitors are properly identified and monitored. This responsibility reflects our commitment to honoring our commitments by maintaining a controlled and secure environment for associates and guests.

• Incident Response: Respond quickly and professionally to alarms or distress calls, investigating disturbances and assisting in emergency situations. Your actions will embody the values of working with passion and honoring our commitments, keeping the team and facility safe.

• Patrolling: Conduct regular patrols across the facility, both indoors and outdoors, to deter criminal activity and ensure safety. Your proactive approach will contribute to sustaining our future by maintaining a secure and productive work environment.

• Documentation: Accurately document incidents, breaches, and suspicious activities. Timely and detailed reporting will reflect our core value of honoring our commitments and allow us to continuously improve our security measures.

• Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols. By maintaining compliance, you uphold our commitment to integrity and sustaining our future.

• Emergency Preparedness: Assist with emergency response and crisis management, including First Aid/BLS as necessary. Your calm, calculated response will reflect our core values of working with passion and honoring our commitments in critical situations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a security officer, guard, or in a similar security-related role.
• Strong understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
• Tech-savvy with experience operating surveillance systems and emergency equipment.
• Excellent observation and surveillance skills, demonstrating attention to detail in safeguarding the facility.
• Familiarity with report writing and documentation, ensuring all incidents are properly recorded.
• Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense.
• Ability to remain calm and act lawfully in defense of life or property during critical situations.
• Registered as a security officer in accordance with local regulations.
• Strong integrity, professionalism, and discretion in all activities.

Education and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or GED required. Additional certifications in security or public safety are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a security officer or in a related security role.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including bending, squatting, lifting, and occasionally running or jogging if necessary.
• Must be able to withstand exposure to varying temperatures (hot and cold).
• Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Must be reliable, with good work ethics and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and understand regulations and safety protocols, ensuring a compliant and safe environment.
