POSITION SUMMARY

As the Security Specialist, you are responsible for assisting the Security Officer in ensuring the Bank is compliant with all Regulatory security requirements, training employees to adhere to security-related policies and procedures, and help ensure the physical and financial security of the Bank, our employees, and our customers. As a representative of the Bank, you are required to present a positive and professional image at all times.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience in banking and/or security and fraud preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Security Officer in the daily administration and requirements of the Security Department
  • Assist the Information Security Officer in monitoring and responding to cybersecurity threats
  • Accurately process garnishments and levies as well as any other efforts related to fraud (for example, restitution, cash items or fraud repayments)
  • Accurately complete investigations, documentation, and all necessary reporting of any fraud incidents
  • Work with the Bank’s legal counsel in the processing of summons, subpoenas and other legal requests for information
  • Provide security training for new and current employees as needed
  • Update and maintain all current security systems utilized (for example, access control, cameras, alarms and All Clear) and assist with the implementation of new systems
  • Maintain a strong working relationship and communications with security vendors to include uploading vendor invoices for approval and payment
  • Perform a daily review of Verafin fraud alerts and research them to determine whether or not a case needs to be created
  • Ensure the branch’s compliance with required deadlines for sending in security-related documentation (security checklists, bait money copies, key logs, etc.)
  • Conduct branch audits to ensure security procedures, physical security and clean desk policies are being followed
  • Present Security training in New Hire Orientations
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
  • Actively support the ongoing development of a culturally diverse workforce
  • Complete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficial

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position largely operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with the Bank’s legal counsel, security vendors, management and employees. Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential. Remaining in a stationary position, frequently operating a computer for extended periods of time, is common. Must be able to accurately gather and process verbal and written information and properly prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity is needed for the frequent use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers and telephones and security equipment such as cameras and alarms. Occasional travel may be required.
