The Patrol Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the commercial building by conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, and responding to security incidents. This role ensures that the building and its occupants are protected from theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol Duties:
Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the commercial building, including hallways, offices, parking areas, and common spaces.
Check doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
Identify and report any safety hazards or security breaches.
Surveillance:
Monitor surveillance cameras and other security equipment.
Report any suspicious activity or security breaches to the appropriate authorities.
Maintain and review security footage as needed.
Incident Response:
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or disturbances.
Provide first aid or assistance to injured individuals until medical personnel arrive.
Prepare and maintain detailed incident reports for any occurrences during the shift.
Access Control:
Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter.
Verify identification and issue visitor passes as necessary.
Manage entry points and ensure proper lockdown procedures are followed when needed.
Customer Service:
Assist tenants, employees, and visitors with inquiries and provide directions within the building.
Deliver a visible and reassuring presence to enhance the sense of safety and security.
Policy Enforcement:
Enforce building policies, rules, and regulations.
Address and resolve conflicts or disturbances in a professional manner.
Work closely with building management and tenants to ensure compliance with security procedures.
Safety and Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections of security systems and equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Report maintenance issues such as broken locks, malfunctioning security systems, or other safety hazards.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations effectively.
Basic computer skills for operating surveillance equipment and writing reports.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Physical ability to respond to emergencies quickly, including running and lifting.
Certifications:
Security Guard license/certification as required by local law.
First aid and CPR certification preferred.
