Position Summary:

Responsible for the design, strategic management, planning, oversight, consultation, coordination, implementation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, training, and planning of the Network Infrastructure and function and its impact to multiple Information Systems/applications and operations. Reports to the Manager of Infrastructure Services or designee by the Director of Information Services. Utilizes advanced networking and programming tools to support network, hardware, applications, systems, and Information Systems operations/processes. 

Qualifications: 

Required:  Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related area or equivalent level of training/experience; seven (7) years advanced networking experience; familiar with healthcare informatics, operational and business workflows; ability to organize work and attend to detail; works collaboratively across multiple departments, with end users and schedules. Works collaboratively with multiple departments and various leadership, staff, Providers and stake holders providing exceptional customer service. 

Preferred: Experience working with Cisco and Cisco products; ACI and Catalyst Center or SDN Experience; CCNA/CCNP Certified; Epic Information Systems; Applicable customer service experience and support.

Essential Job Functions: 

  Responsible for the design, strategic management, planning, oversight, consultation, coordination, implementation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, training, and planning of the Network Infrastructure and its impact to multiple Information Systems/applications and operations, with a focus on customer experience. Assists with various Infrastructure systems (Cisco/Meraki/VMWare/Servers, firewalls, security/security tools, backup/recovery solutions (ex. Cohesity), hardware/wireless solutions (Cisco), Epic systems/modules, and other applications as needed.

        Uses networking experience and expertise to identify and document physical topologies and technologies, alternative solutions, system design, and workflow analysis to meet operational, security, clinical and business objectives.

        Manages and assists with the implementation, support and maintenance of various applications, networking (software defined and traditional), software and hardware environments: Routing - BGP, EIGRP, Redistribution and Route Selection; Manages consolidated I/O, Application Delivery, Load Balancing (Netscaler), SSL/HTTP offload; TCP/IP packet analysis, WAN, VLAN, Wireless LAN management/troubleshooting; and Network Function Virtualization.

        Develops applicable action plan(s), prepares strategic design recommendations/implementations, identifies resource/support requirements and documents the plans of action. Translates recommendations from vendors into working solutions with strategic gap analysis and documentation in accordance with operational/business objectives. Programs/codes as needed.

        Prepares rigorous unit/integrated/pre-post go-live analysis test plan(s), and scripts; accompanied with completed validation documentation. Performs quality assurance testing and validation; programs and writes applicable scripts, documents and communicates results/challenges to leadership, Providers, management, co-workers and end-users as appropriate.

        Evaluates programming requests and works with IS Team members in developing solutions that are cost effective, efficient, and meet the operational, clinical and business needs of multiple departments focusing on Network resilience, availability and stability with routine Test Process and Metrics / KPI’s to report on the health and utilization of the network.

        Provides training on new features to requesting user departments. Keeps abreast of emerging technologies in the Healthcare Networking Informatics industry. Evaluates these technologies as appropriate and participates/leads the selection, implementation and ongoing support.

        Communicates effectively with leadership, peers, Providers, management, supervisors and operational staff both internally and externally providing sufficient technical review, documentation, direction and clarity for all parties involved.

   Consistently demonstrates a professional, self-directed approach to cooperative relationships throughout the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication with peers, co-workers, directors, physicians, office staff, and other departments; works independently and with others. Ability to adapt to change rapidly; ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
