Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance? The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst/Auditor to join our Information Assurance (IA) team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work with industry experts, and develop skills in cybersecurity compliance and risk management.
In this role, you will contribute to auditing efforts that help SDL obtain and maintain CMMC authorization, ensuring the security and compliance of our corporate information systems. You’ll receive mentorship, training, and real-world experience in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists in conducting cybersecurity audits to ensure compliance with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other security frameworks
Supports log analysis and security event monitoring using SIEM tools
Assists in identifying and tracking security vulnerabilities, working with teams to implement remediation
Helps review and update security policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with industry standards
Conducts risk assessments and contribute to security compliance documentation
Supports incident response activities, assisting in investigations and security reporting
Participates in security awareness training efforts to educate SDL employees on best practices
Works with cybersecurity mentors and experts to develop hands-on experience in security tools, threat detection, and compliance
Assists in evaluating security configurations and access controls to strengthen system protection
Stays updated on emerging threats, regulations, and security trends to support SDL’s cybersecurity initiatives
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Associate
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Internship, research project, or coursework related to cybersecurity auditing, compliance, or risk assessment
Basic knowledge of audit tools and frameworks (e.g., Nessus, Splunk, LogRhythm, CrowdStrike)
Understanding of Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, and Security Awareness Training
Familiarity with cloud security principles and compliance in cloud environments
Experience working in a regulated industry (defense, government, finance, or healthcare)
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Salary Range:
$64,000-$90,000
Salary commensurate upon highest education level and years of directly related experience
