Job Title: Instructor of Computer Science and/or Computer Information Systems
Reporting Structure: Chair-Computer Science Department, Dean- CSEM
Division: Academic Affairs/Provost
Job Summary:
Must be able to teach technical or theory courses in CS or CIS. In particular, the department is interested in candidates who can teach one or more courses in:
1. CIS: Web Design and Web Development, Computer Network Administration, Intro to Programming, Cyber Security and related certifications.
2. CS: Computer Applications, Database Theory, Analysis of Algorithms, and Java Programming.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Curriculum development, classroom teaching, and holding office hours.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Commitment to teaching at a liberal arts school. Evidence of successful teaching at the college level is required.
Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and commitment to mentor and educate students of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Education and Experience:
- MS (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with areas of specialization that complement existing faculty. Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Or, BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field and extensive related work experience or professional certifications (full Stack, CompTIA, CCNA, etc.). Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution.
Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution (e.g. SACSCOC).
Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:
Related work experience or professional certifications (full Stack, CompTIA, CCNA, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and applications. Required to stand, walk and sit, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
