Position Overview

Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security Specialist, you’ll take ownership of diverse responsibilities designed to protect and improve the security posture of our organization. Key duties include:

Cybersecurity Management

  • Assign and manage cybersecurity, operations, and HR training programs using Knowbe4.
  • Design and execute phishing campaigns to increase organizational awareness and preparedness.
  • Investigate reported phishing attempts via Knowbe4 Phishing Alert Button (PAB) and implement corrective actions.

Policy Development & Compliance

  • Develop, update, and maintain IT and Cybersecurity policies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Complete cybersecurity and infrastructure-related surveys and questionnaires.

System Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Act as the primary liaison for the third-party cybersecurity vendor ESentire.
  • Monitor and manage cybersecurity systems, including S1, Tenable, Sumo Logic, and Upguard.
  • Detect, report, and respond to potential cybersecurity threats or incidents.
  • Audit user permissions in O365 and Datacor systems to maintain secure access levels.
  • Manage and monitor firewalls, switches, and other network security infrastructure.

Proactive Security Measures

  • Collaborate with the IT team on patch management and ensure the timely resolution of compliance issues.
  • Suggest and implement strategies to enhance system security and minimize the company's cybersecurity footprint.
  • Conduct regular third-party risk assessments and audits.

Team Collaboration

  • Host weekly cybersecurity meetings with the IT team to review priorities and address emerging threats.
  • Partner with other departments to integrate cybersecurity into business processes.

Business Continuity & Growth

  • Maintain and regularly update disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Stay current on industry trends, latest threats, and cybersecurity innovations to keep the organization protected and competitive.
  • Support the development of incident response plans, and actively participate in response initiatives as required.


Requirements

What We’re Looking For

You are a driven, detail-oriented professional with the skills and experience to excel in this role. To succeed as our Cyber Security Specialist, you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including risk management, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Proficiency with tools like Knowbe4, ESentire systems, and Upguard.
  • Expertise in managing O365 environments, firewalls, and network security processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
