Job Description:

The State of Texas is seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager with advanced experience in security project management, implementation of complex DLP and web information systems, and information systems controls. The ideal candidate will have a PPM certification and a strong background in managing large-scale projects, including budget and timeline coordination, compliance adherence, and resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the implementation of a complex Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and vulnerability management applications.
  • Supervise up to three staff augmentation contractors, including two Network Security Analysts and one Application/Software Developer or Cloud Security Analyst.
  • Oversee project budget and timeline using enterprise portfolio project management software.
  • Coordinate with Managed Services vendors to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Information Resources (DIR) Project Management Framework and Health and Human Services (HHSC) IT standards.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance in designing, building, and securing web information systems.
  • Address resource constraints and skill gaps by independently performing IT tasks when necessary.
  • Work closely with HHSC Security and Network Engineers to align security implementations with organizational policies.
