Job Summary:
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Cybersecurity, Engineering, and Service teams to address escalated issues, manage alerts from SIEM and centralized systems, and support new security initiatives. We are looking for an Engineer with leadership presence, possessing strong technical and interpersonal skills, familiarity with industry-standard tools, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to mentor junior members of the team.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following):
- High interaction with the Security, Engineering and Service teams, responding to escalated issues in a timely fashion
- Respond and action alerts from our SIEM and centralized management system to maintain health and security of our platform
- Utilize interpersonal and technical skills to effectively communicate with management, peers, and clients
- Maintain an awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies
- Ability to scope, implement and support new security projects/initiatives
- Ownership and follow up of pending issues to resolution
Skills:
- Familiarity with industry standard tools and applications (such as Rapid7, Palo Alto, SentinelOne, KnowBe4)
- Familiarity with Microsoft (Office365 & Azure) and Citrix (XenApp) technologies
- Ability to navigate and utilize a ticketing system (such as ConnectWise or Service Now)
- Experience with change management and security remediation processes
- Experience with security documentation, technical and policy writing
- Ability to deliver technical/security information or concepts in a user-friendly format
- Takes ownership and excels in both independent and team project work
- Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
- Must have availability to occasionally work nights and weekends
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a system engineering or technical security role
- A Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or similar focus
- Microsoft Certified (MCSE) or equivalent certification a plus
- Ability to commute to Charlotte office in a hybrid fashion
- Security Certificate (current or within 6 months of hire) such as; CompTIA CySA, Security+ and Network+ CISA, ISC-2 CC)
