Job Description: Project Manager for KVC Rehabilitation and Upgrades

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the rehabilitation and upgrade of the KVC (Kula Visitor Center). The successful candidate will manage multiple components of the project, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. 
   

   KVC Rehabilitation:

   
   
   
   
   • Oversee the upgrade of electric service to three-phase.
   
   
   • Manage the replacement and expansion of the photovoltaic system.
   
   
   • Redesign the interior exhibits and lobby area.
   
   
   • Convert part of the office space for visitor use.
   
   
   • Coordinate the removal of interior staff restrooms and the installation of new staff restrooms in the office area.
   
   
   • Supervise the removal and replacement of the interior stairway access to the basement.
   
   
   • Implement improvements to the theater and basement areas.
   
   
   
   


2. 
   

   Generator Replacement:

   
   
   
   
   • Oversee the removal and replacement of the generator and associated connections serving the KVC.
   
   
   • Manage the expansion of the generator housing to accommodate the new generator and ensure appropriate clear spaces.
   
   
   
   


3. 
   

   Comfort Station Construction:

   
   
   
   
   • Supervise the demolition and removal of the existing comfort station and septic tanks.
   
   
   • Oversee the construction of a new comfort station with a covered entry and connections to the KVC and existing sidewalk.
   
   
   • Manage the installation of new septic tanks and absorption beds.
   
   
   
   


4. 
   

   Lanai Demolition and Hālau Construction:

   
   
   
   
   • Oversee the demolition of the existing lanai, including all structures and interpretive elements.
   
   
   • Manage the construction of a new hālau as an outdoor covered area for visitor services.
   
   
   • Coordinate pavement work in the hālau with the Exhibit Design Contractor for future decorative inlay.
   
   
   
   

Requirements:

• OSHA 30-hour certification.


• Proficiency in Oracle Primavera Project, Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
