We are seeking a skilled and motivated Microsoft Security Architect to join our team. This role is pivotal in designing and delivering Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solutions tailored to our customers' needs. 
The ideal candidate will have a strong IT engineering background, used to be IT Admin in IT early days, evolved to Architect level, excellent communication and presales skills, and a commitment to delivering the best security outcomes. 
Candidates preferably based in the UK, Canada, United States or Ukraine and ready to engage directly with customers.

What you’ll do:

• As an Enterprise Infrastructure and Security Architect, you will provide thought leadership and strategic direction on technology and architecture matters. 
• Support UnderDefense Sales team on Presales calls. You will ensure that customer technology initiatives align with our long-term business objectives and target state architecture, particularly regarding public/private cloud, SaaS services. This role requires a forward-thinking individual who can foster collaboration among technology partners, balance diverse cloud adoption objectives, and champion best practices and governance standards across our core technology platforms.
• You will strategically balance diverse objectives for multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud adoption, ensuring appropriate value, risk, and engineering autonomy.
• You will guide on-prem to cloud migrations (AWS & Azure) aligned with the target state architecture, emphasizing best practices, reuse, security, reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards for Azure & AWS environments.
• Monitor and manage security configurations and vulnerabilities within cloud platforms.
• Working closely with key partners, including enterprise quality, security, and cost management, you will define standards for cloud services. Promoting conformance to the target state architecture, standard methodologies and tools, software and platform reuse, and generating passion for adoption will be a fundamental part of your role.
• Lead and measure your impact through well-defined critical metrics
• Build and Manage identity and access management (IAM) within cloud environments, including role-based access control (RBAC).
• Implement and manage cloud security tools and services, focusing on but not limited to Cloud Security Posture Management, Defender for Cloud in Azure.
• Oversee the Microsoft Defender 365 portal and various aspects of E5 Security, including Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Identity, and Purview tools like Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Insider Risk Management.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices and emerging threats.

What we’re looking for:

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of  experience in high-powered engineering organizations with well-crafted hyper-scale cloud deployments. 
• You should have proven experience working in sophisticated Microsoft based technology ecosystems, including large-scale cloud estates, large data sets, ETL, virtualization, storage, and Containers/Kubernetes. Solid experience with Zero Trust, IAM, networking, and security, as well as Disaster Recovery strategy and implementation in an enterprise setting are also a must. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, foster consensus, and collaborate effectively with a broad range of technical partners is required.
• 10 years of experience in related technology implementations and management.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Foundational understanding of both current and legacy technologies in areas such as application platforms (e.g., cloud platforms, legacy platforms), SDLC practices, integration patterns, and automated testing is crucial.
• We are looking for someone with pragmatic judgment, who can balance short and long-term gains and guide partners through these decisions while mentoring them on the implications. You should have a good understanding of Cloud environments.
