Job Description
Develops, implements, and monitors safety and security programs at the program site to ensure a safe and secure learning environment; collaborates with school staff, students, families, public safety officials, and community members to implement programs and enforce school safety and security rules; actively applies positive behavior intervention strategies; enforces parking and bus regulations on program site grounds; investigates and documents all safety and security incidents occurring on school property to include accidents, loss of personal and school property; participates in student activities.
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor?s degree in law enforcement, or a related field with three (3) years of experience in safety and security and currently active certification by the Virginia Center for School Safety. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at time of appointment. Knowledge of local county, and state rules and regulations requiring an alcohol-, drug-, weapons- and tobacco-free environment; knowledge of student safety and conduct; ability to enforce those regulations; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.
