Description: The Azure Security Consultant is a key player in safeguarding cloud environments by implementing and managing Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions and Microsoft Defender for Cloud. This role is pivotal in identifying and mitigating security risks, ensuring compliance, and fortifying cloud infrastructures against evolving threats. The consultant will conduct comprehensive security assessments, configure advanced threat protection, and provide expert guidance on Azure security best practices.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and Manage CSPM Tools: Deploy and oversee CSPM solutions to continuously monitor and secure Azure environments.
  • Optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud: Configure and fine-tune Microsoft Defender for Cloud to effectively detect and mitigate threats.
  • Conduct Security Assessments: Perform thorough security assessments and deliver actionable recommendations to enhance security posture.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to regulatory and organizational security standards, including frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
  • Provide Expert Guidance and Training: Offer in-depth guidance and training on Azure security tools and best practices to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Azure Security Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of experience with CSPM solutions and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Threat Management Skills: Proficiency in identifying vulnerabilities, conducting threat analysis, and implementing response strategies.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
  • Networking & Identity Management: Familiarity with Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory (AD), and role-based access controls (RBAC).
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent skills in diagnosing and resolving security issues within Azure environments.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical security insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel overnight up to 25%. Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation for client site visits.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Technical Skills:
  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates for automating security tasks.
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM): Experience with Azure Sentinel or other SIEM tools for monitoring and incident response.
  • Endpoint Protection: Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and other endpoint protection solutions.
  • Data Protection: Understanding of Azure Key Vault, encryption methods, and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): Expertise in managing Azure AD, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and conditional access policies.
  • Network Security: Skills in configuring Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Azure DDoS Protection.
  • DevSecOps: Familiarity with integrating security practices into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
  • Azure Security Engineer Associate
