The School of Computer Science, Information, & Engineering Technology at Youngstown State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty assistant professor position to begin in August 2025.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, conducting research and scholarship in the area of expertise, seeking external funding, effectively communicating and interacting with students, contributing to curricular development and assessment efforts at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establishing interdisciplinary collaboration across the University or other organizations, and performing service to the University.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.
Ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community through teaching.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None
Minimum Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in computer science or a related field or a Doctor of Information Technology by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in computer science, information technology, computing and information sciences, or other closely related field. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence and machine learning, computer engineering, cybersecurity, and software engineering or other related areas.
Position start date will be Fall semester 2024 (August).
